Why does "Who's Your Daddy?" mean something so different than "How's Your Father?"

I actually tried (albeit not very hard) to find out the etymology of the two phrases but gave up when I found this:

Sir, you are a genius... that's the best (and funniest) etymology of "How's Your Father" I've ever seen. Needless to say, I believe it completely.
