Last nightbuddleiacame round and I fed her and poured a bottle of wine down her throat and then forced her to watch the absolute classic Cabaret, which she had never seen. I think she enjoyed it, yay! I think it's a great film. It's certainly one of my favourite musicals, and it's so dark and unsettling and sexy. The songs have long ago sunk into my subconscious - I was in a school production - although I've gotta say one thing: I always thought that the script for the musical is a much better story than the film. Especially the ending. There's a lot more detail in the musical script, better characterisation, and a better handling of the menace and eventual myriad tragedies...
I've also seen the film version called I Am A Camera which was odd but also good. Could've used some songs though ;)
Tune in next time as I force my girlfriend to watch more films and tv shows she's never seen! (can you believe she's never seen Farscape? *gasp*)
