Hmm, that's really interesting. Sounds like magic users are handled completely differently in both games. Let me give you some WOW equivalents.
WOW Priest = White Mage, curative and defensive.
There's also the option to be a Priest specialising in dark magic (Shadowpriest) ie damage - this is closest to your Black Mage.
Then there's the Warlock, who would seem to be a mix of your Red Mages (enfeebling, curses etc) and the Summoner (demon avatars).
Nothing equivalent to Blue Mages, Scholars or Bards - the Paladin is probably the best buffer in WOW.
We also have the Shaman (elemental magic and party buffs, using totems which appear on the ground and can be destroyed), the Druid (nature magic, and transforming into useful animal forms), and Mages, who can specialise either in Fire (damage) or Ice (slowing and freezing attacks).
Other classes are the Warrior, Rogue and Hunter ( like rangers... distance attacks with bows or guns, animal companion). Damn it. I feel cheated now. I want more classes. Ninjas! Barbarians! Kender Wild Mage!
