Ahhh, lovely refreshing long weekend! I was very grumpy this morning about coming into work. I’m contemplating contracting Shingles – sure, it’s painful, but that’s a guaranteed 3 weeks off!

My birthday was lovely, and thank you for all the lovely wishes. I saw Indy IV and then had a very boozy dinner, then staggered home laden with gifts and flowers and wings (don’t ask). I spent quite a lot of the weekend playing Bioshock, which is awesome albeit slightly creepy. There’s nothing creepier than evil little girls. (“Will you be my daddy?” brr!) It’s a very good first-person shooter dripping with juicy atmosphere and meaty chunks of story. I got lots of other nice things too, yay for the birthday booty!

I was even lucky enough to find some sunshine on Sunday – yes, I know it was rare throughout the country, but it turns out the birthday party I went to was el-scorchio. (

buddleiais slightly crispy; I’m more resilient to that sort of thing). And then, of course, we had a month’s worth of rain on the Monday…

I’m going for a costume fitting for my very own fancy dress party after work tomorrow. I hope I can find all the suitable parts and such. The party’s on Saturday, and I’m hoping it goes well… it’s a little light on people attending compared to last year, but then, it’s not my 30th this time! Still… cocktails, music, friends… should be great :)
