Apr. 10th, 2006 10:06 amSO now that I’m working again, I have a new appreciation for weekends. They are a magical wonderland filled with beer and good food and roaring laughter in good company and TV programmes and films and comics and books and music and dancing and sometimes computer games. They do not, however, leave much time for catching up on LJ and LJ comments, with friends in general, with paperwork, bills, personal projects or on general domestic chores including vacuuming, laundry, ironing etc. I normally hate Sundays, that sinking oppressive feeling that there is still too much left to do, and too much that will remain undone. In short: weekends are too short. I demand longer weekends. At least 3 or 4 days in a row. Starting at once please, with the very next one. I really don’t think I’m asking for too much. Thank you kindly.
There is, of course, another unfortunate thing about weekends.
Mondays.
Specifically that feeling when you wake up on Monday morning at the crack of dawn, feeling like you’ve been trampolined by hyperactive monkeys who have completed their acrobatics by shitting gleefully on your face.
Those bastard Monday dawn monkeys.
