This morning London was white.
Thick spread of snow on the ground this morning, just as promised. How nice. Getting to work wasn't too bad - only half an hour late and earlier than most - although had to do that amusing thing at Waterloo Station where they slow the oncoming people-traffic to a trickle because the Underground platforms were overcrowded. Treacly slow... I saw one guy take a photo of the shuffling mass we were stuck in with his phone, and thought what a great idea. Still not sure whether it was for personal use, or to show work...
Also saw three young boys this morning on one of the station platforms, way at the end past the safety barriers under the open sky, running around and throwing snowballs at each other. The quick, slushy kind it takes two seconds and a few squeezes to squish together. Looked like great fun.
Ludicrously had to leave work again at noon for a doctor's appointment. I got as far as the nearest Tube before checking my phone and realising that the hospital was cancelling my appointment due to a shortage of doctors. Snowed in at the golf course? I was heading back to work when I thought "wait, what the hell am I doing?" and went home. Ah, Snow Day. Lounging around the house all afternoon in your pyjamas, toasty warm under a duvet, with a warm mug of hot chocolate and some junk food, catching up on fandom tv I hadn't seen yet this week. Lovely. That's what snow is for.
