My head is killing me... I suspect I have another sinus infection. For the last two weeks I have felt like an extra from Scanners: the Musical.

I have been busy enjoying some free time after working hard last month. Mostly relaxing at home, but some busy-ness too...

On Friday I went out with the ineffable [livejournal.com profile] buddleia and her sexylicious friend [livejournal.com profile] bad_sheep to B Movie, where we danced lots to bad 80s music and bumped into [livejournal.com profile] kitty_goth and [livejournal.com profile] julietk. Saturday was spent watching Bareback Brokeback Mountain (damn it, now I'm doing it) with [livejournal.com profile] buddleia and [livejournal.com profile] betelbrucke (Hello! Happy birthday again! Mwah!) which was very beautiful and moving and well done... although I have to agree that most men are absolutely crap at expressing themselves, and I felt like screaming "For godsake! It's the 60's/70's/80's! What do you mean there's no place for you! Fuck it, move to San Francisco, ya dumb cowmen..." at the screen.

Then Sunday (deep breath) it was back out to meet Canadian Jenny and old friend Liz at the World's End in Camden, which I would like to have as my local, please, if there are any wish-granting individuals in the audience. Lovely chat, big pints, and I corrupted both of them by forcing my spare cigarettes onto them mercilessly. Bad man.

What else? King Kong is big flashy fun... I can handle most scary things, but bugs will get me every time. Especially giant bugs (shudder). The Producers is good, but not as good as it could have been... too derivative of the stage production, the new songs are lightweight, and the original film is funnier. Still, if I didn't know its background and was coming at it fresh, I would have loved it. And it's still damn funny.

Unlike, say, the Bruce Campbell written/directed/starring The Man with the Screaming Brain, which soars right up to number one on the Worst Films I've Seen This Year list... seriously, not even so-bad-it's-funny, just so-bad-it-hurts-Mommy-make-it-stop-My-eyes!-My-eyes!-argh...

Battlestar Galactica is currently rocking my socks off. Oh, and I have a job interview tomorrow. Wish me luck. If I don't get this one, I have to start the whole draining search process from next week.

And that is all.
