We had a Pancake night last night which went down well, especially with the application of sherry and red wine. I had to pour buddleia into bed.

Job agencies suck ass. I can't remember the last time it was so difficult to get a job, nor can I comprehend how the more experience I gain the less employable I am. That said, I refuse to be discouraged. See my teeth? Gritted.

I have a shameful secret... I love the Academy Awards. I can't explain why (other awards shows leave me cold) but ever since I was young, I've always enjoyed staying up til ridiculous o'clock to watch it live. It aggrieved me when it stopped showing live on terrestrial (stolen by satellite channels) and so I have shelled out £13 to get extra channels for a month, purely so I can watch it on Sunday night. I think I will be alone in this... neither my girlfriend nor my flatmates have shown the slightest bit of interest... but I don't care. It'll be me, a large bottle of Coke, some snacks, and the stars.

My money is on Brokeback Mountain to win almost everything, but with Philip Seymour Hoffman picking up Best Actor for Capote. (Not that I have any money to put on such things, of course, nor would I if I did)

In other news, my parents continue to drive me nuts. I found out that my mother has been passing around my CV in Bahrain, and telling everyone who will listen that I'm moving back soon. That's, like, never going to happen. I'd rather join the Travelling Taliban Amateur Dramatic and Musical Troupe.

I am a little stressed, but am I downhearted? No! (Well... only sometimes)
