Ok bored now!

Here's a link to another Guardian article:

Boiled Alive - about the effects of excessive heat on the body, about the trend towards warmer summers and the link to global warming, and lots of other interesting information.

It's a bit long though. And also quite Eurocentric in the beginning, so apologies for that. (If you skip to the end there are statistics that cover heatwaves around the world)

Interesting, thanks for linking. It hit 45 this weekend here in LA & being in a flat without an airconditioner and having to walk a lot with heavy packages is ... my icon says it all ;) It's the first time since I've lived here that the heat was so high for such a long time straight - hasn't even been getting cool at night like it used to.

I hope the eventual end of the world is preceded by ice cold water rain storms. Mmmm, freezing cold.

Ooh yea, I used to work in London & the place I was training at was all excited to move across the street into a building with OMG A/C OMG OMGOMG...and it turned out to be a tiny floor box for the entire huge dance studio. *sends you some cold breezes*

I think there's a highway melting around here, but really, I lack the energy to care. & I think someone could very easily win for office right now with the platform of "Free A/C for all!"
