Dear Readers...
Oct. 9th, 2006 03:45 pmA quick update from work... I'm still catching up with my workload after being away. It's been a busy week...
buddleia and I escaped the Big Smoke by fleeing to a hotel room in Brighton for a perfect few days. Then back to London for her birthday celebrations which were fun too if a little exhausting. Tut, getting old...
Things I have learned this week:
1) Sea Urchins are evil. They should not be eaten (crazy Japanese people) as this can lead to awful nightmares.
2) Too much love *can* kill you. In the end.
3) If you're bored to tears at work and clicking refresh, your friends in LJ-land will never post. If you go away from your computer for a few days, you will have to scroll back -60, -80 or even -100.
4) It doesn't matter how many TV episodes or films you have available to watch. The one thing you are dying to see will take forever to download. Battlestar Galactica Season 3, I'm looking at you. Don't frackin' smirk at me.
5) I will not dance on request for a roomful of people, even on my girlfriend's birthday, without making difficult demands. Like for seven veils, bells, and a small goat.
6) However I will happily dance the Snoopy Dance for my girlfriend and her Electric Landlady early in the morning without prompting, even BC (before coffee).
7) If I'm tired, even a three year old has better social skills than I do.
8) When I am on form, I am dazzling. But old men beat me upside the head.
9)
buddleia's dad hits harder than she does, but she's still scarier.
10) It is still as true as it ever was that when it is windy and rainy in Brighton, the wind is strong enough to blow rain through a closed window. However, from a warm double bed, this is more interesting than irritating.
11) I still love Brighton.
12) My girlfriend's not too bad either.
13) You cannot mop up coffee with an overcoat; nor should you mop up wine with a small child's socks.
14) Circadian rhythms
15) I am, perhaps, a better employment prospect than I worried I might be. We shall see if this bears out.
That'll do, Grommit. Another post soon. Go well, stay well, people.
