Temeraire - Naomi Novik. Excellent, but maybe a little underwritten. Could have used some more fleshing out of characters. The new dragons were great though!
A Fine and Private Place - Peter S Beagle. Lovely and odd. A love story of sorts between ghosts in a cemetary.
The Dark Tower - Stephen King. Brilliant most of the way through, with a real killer let-down ending. Weak conclusion to an otherwise great series.
The Confusion - Neal Stephenson. Just pure gold dust. Or silver. Or mercury. Something like that anyway. Gaspingly exciting historical fiction. With pirates.
Altered Carbon- Richard Morgan. Surprisingly good taut action thriller set in a futuristic world where bodies are disposable, and replaceable, and a commodity.
