Iran Condemns the US... for producing Frank Miller's 300.

I must say, I am looking forward to 300... despite never having read the graphic novel.

Yeah, I know... *sighs* but how Arabic/dark-skinned is the Disney Aladdin? I think the article mentions something about previous Disney attempts at race/colour being all "ooh! look at the exotic character! Ethnic flavour, ethnic flavour!" whereas this time they just happen to be black.

I don't know... it's just nicer when it's irrelevant to the plot, you know?

I'm pretty sure - I think it was a composite of Tom Cruise and some other Hollywood types.

Disney is extremely white. It will be interesting to see if they get savvy by 2009. Now I don't want them to get stupid and go all Boondocks on me. But culture and colour is certainly a nice addition to the Disney repertoire. Way to get in on this cultural inclusion trend, Disney! Go Team Caucasian!

It looks like the film will be the graphic novel put pretty accurately on the screen. It's everything that is both good and bad about extreme machismo.
