Hey y'all, I'm back. Bahrain was alright but fairly tiring, I should probably not just "pop over" for the weekend, it's a killer. I'm still fairly knackered now, but back at work and getting back into the groove.

Sorry I haven't been around, I've been reading LJ but haven't had time to comment. It would be futile to try catching up now, so I won't, but I have been paying attention, honest guv.

Hey, did you see this? Good news for alien hunters... apparently the chances of life on other planets has just increased again. I'm cool with that... it's very arrogant assuming human beings are the pinnacle of evolution on this planet, never mind the universe.

If there is intelligent life out there, what must they think of us?:

"Hey Bob... them hairless apes're fightin' agin."

"Ayup?" *spits out Phlogestron Prime Alpha Chewing Tobacco Brand 134-A*
"Figures. Dern primitives. They ain't even worked out how to travel to the nearest star! Too busy playing in the dirt."

(*shakes head*)

Hehe That's pretty much what I think about life on other planets. Oh how they must laugh at us piddly creatures.

To paraphrase from The Forge of God, humans are the only species arrogant enough to announce their ignorance to the rest of the universe.

Personally, I think there are several groups out there who would love to turn Earth into a nice summer home, but no one wants to go through the cost and bother of getting rid of us and bulldozing everything. So they are quietly waiting for us to destroy ourselves.

They are going to have to figure out what to do with the cockroaches though. Perhaps hire them to tend the gardens?

See, I always thought The Aliens would turn up looking embarrassed and say that they'd buggered up their home planet with pollutions and mimes and nuclear fallout and were hoping that we, the possibly more advanced race, might be able to help.

We could let them have Mars?

It's weird thinking of all the variations of social patterns and types of thinking amongst just humans and then trying to imagine what aliens would think. Will certainly be a fun day when we do meet up with something from another world. I do hope we don't go all British Colonial on them.
