 Wait... there's a Saw 4?!

Sheesh... talk about flogging a dead serial killer.

And it's filmed in Toronto!

I have absolutely no interest in seeing this film or any of its incarnations. What happened to the good old days of Jason chasing buxom naked young girls through the forest? *sigh*

... wow, that's... genuinely sick and disturbing.

mhm. At least there was some amount of humour to slasher films like Friday the 13th, or mystery and thought in movies like Poltergeist. Saw just seems to be fun and interesting ways to kill people. If there was historical value to it, Mel Gibson would be all over it.

There were always some horror films that had absolutely no redeemable qualities. Texas Chainsaw Massacre for example, or The last House On The Left. But these were always the minority, and really genre niche titles. I find it rather worrying that they're now m aking a *lot* of big multi-plex movies with big exposure, which are basically all about saying 'hey kids, look how cool it is to kidnap young women and torture them! Isn't it FUN!'

But maybe I'm just getting old.
