Yes, but will it get the bad taste of Mostly Harmless out of my mouth? I hated that book - I thought it was one of the biggest examples of a writer being forced into writing something he didn't like. Hence killing off the property so people would stop asking him to write another.

(another example is Poppy Z Brite's Exquisite Corpse which I also didn't like because, again, it felt like something the author was forced into writing and it shows)

The trouble with Exquisite Corpse is partly that the version that was published was a rewrite that toned down an original that was quite breathtaking in its perversity. Having read that version, and thought highly of it, I was disappointed by the compromise version - but publishers just thought the original too extreme. I suspect this is one of the reasons why PZB moved away from horror thereafter - both out of disappointment and because the original version left nowhere to go.

Gah, cowardly publishers. It sounds like the original version would have made a good read.

I think she was disappointed by the limits imposed but, by that point, contractually obliged to deliver. Another reason she switched to smaller press.

The Liquor books are very good too, but entirely different.

And that is the reason slashers generally have the good sense to keep the slash AWAY from the original writers. Muppets. What do they expect Ms Proulx to do? Congratulate them? Rewrite the story?
