What are they doing about Menezes anyway after that jury delivered the damning verdict that would clearly have been unlawful killing if they had been allowed to deliver an unlawful killing verdict? Is there going to be another inquest, or are we all just supposed to forget about it now?

Well. His family - while pleased that the verdict was as damning as, you know, it could've been under the circumstances - are still planning on mounting an appeal. And quite right too.

(When the Coroner, I believe it was, forbade the jury from considering an unlawful killing verdict - forbade! pah - the mother and other members of the family that were present left the court and flew back to Brazil straight away.)

And with any luck the appeal judge wont be as... what's the word... Criminal? As the first one.

God, I remember that, the judge declared that there was not going to be enough evidence to come to an unlawful killing verdict didn't he? Despite the evidence not having been heard yet.

I still don't understand why the newspapers are letting them get away with this.

No, no.. I'm pretty sure it was the CORONER not the Judge who made that declaration about unlawful killing being removed as a verdict.

I'm not sure why, though. Big sack of cash?

Shame it wasn't the same coroner who has been handling a lot of the Iraq war casualties. He's not been remotely afraid of pointing out the governments failings.
