Red Lentil Day/ 'Jeez it's cold' whinge

Unfortunately, I can always tell when it's been particularly cold during the night: as I have a poorly insulated room, I wake up feeling awful! Cue this morning's sore throat.

This afternoon I am getting my head x-rayed, and I'm currently on antibiotics and steroids. Yesterday I had a Red Lentil Day... that is, a spillage accident as my dinner was ready and hot and it was time to rush to the tv to catch Rome. Red lentils everywhere, the little bastards, all over the kitchen counter, the floor, in both toasters, and sprinkled liberally over my dinner. My pasta was extra crunchy... I had to pick them out while sat in front of the tv.

There you go... comedy, illness and a little mystery.

Hello all. I was wondering if you could do me a favour?

A friend of mine has entered a competition for short films. The winners will be shown on tv. She had to submit 9 short films of 5 seconds each. She needs people to vote for her to have a chance to win.

Obviously, you don't have to vote if you don't think her film is good enough. But I like it. Then again she's my friend, she stars in the films, and I'm proud of her.
