Empty Nest Groan

I'm currently stressing out over not having anyone call to take the room that's going. Only one person has come round, a girl from Rio called Cristian, but I don't think I can take her... her visa status is up in the air at the moment and I need someone who is guaranteed to stay for at least six months.

This is a big issue as if I don't have any people living here, I have no spending money. Putting aside the morality of sponging off the cream of the rent that goes to my parents for living expenses, the cold hard fact is that I rely on that money to a great extent.

I'm also feeling a little cheated... I've lost Sophie and the Brazillians, who were all great housemates; easy to get along with, reliable with rent and bills, and punctilious about cleanliness; and I've been left with Laura, the English girl, who has all the social skills of an incontinent leper, and is bad about cleaning generally to boot. Why is it always the good ones who leave early?

Stress stress panic... I'm too busy worrying about the state of the house dynamic to even jobhunt this week. Grr.

I have a rather thick copy of ye olde missive if you want to give it a try... alternately you could consider making her a project and try to get her to talk rather than squeeze pus-infested acne scars... :oP

don't put them in the cellar. you know they'll just smell after a few weeks and no amoutn of shake and vac' will come to your rescue...

Urgh. Just remember that sucky housemates are worse than no spending money. Hope you find someone good soon! I know how long and hard that kind of search can be.
