Interesting Times

For the next two weeks, I will be cat sitting at a luxurious flat in North London. The fridge contains caviar and asparagus spears, and there are bottles of Moet and Chandon gathering dust in the larder. but something tells me that would be taking "help yourself to anything you need" a little too far. I think I will settle for the satellite tv (it is true, by the by, that if you have hundreds of channels to flick through rather than five, you still can't find anything you'd like to watch. The flicking just takes longer) and the thoughtfully left behind laptop with wireless network. Said laptop is, unfortunately, in Japanese for the most part. Which is not as much of a problem as I thought it might be, but still a little perplexing and bemusing. So if I accidentally post some Japanese characters or sentences, forgive me.
I also had my fortune read by a Japanese spinster recently. Apparently this week it is fortuitous for me to be writing and submitting articles for magazines and newspapers. But they have to be done by Saturday to be double-plus happy lucky lucky.
You'll excuse me if I'm not around much for the next week or too, particularly when it comes to comments. I seem to have slipped into interesting times. Rest assured I am reading friends pages fervently, as you folk are my bastions of sanity in an uncertain world. Gods (particularly Small ones) help me...
The cat's name is Snappy. Yes, she is.

Date: 2005-08-04 12:56 pm (UTC)Mind you, I've never been a huge fan of champagne. Check the drinks cabinet for scotch.
And while you're at it, check behind all of the pictures and see if you can't find a safe.
