This week I have mostly been working at London Zoo. At the moment, I am sitting behind the switchboard at the main office building, completely unsupervised. (Do you know what your temps are up to? Do you hell!) In front of me, through an open window is the Zoo. Lovely place to work, if only for the novelty of taking your lunch break surrounded by wild animals. (Although admittedly not so much when they're eyeing you hungrily)

Although it does have its drawbacks too... someone just called me and asked to speak to Mr C. Lion. Arf Arf. No seriously... that's such an old chestnut, I'm surprised anyone still uses it.

And I just had a call from a Welsh Guard asking me questions about Albatrosses.

And yesterday someone was concerned about the unusual-looking four foot snake at the bottom of their garden.

You get the idea.

I had my sandwiches on a bench and then went to look at seahorses for a while. Seahorses are great. They have such an unusual way of swimming too. They have a large fin on their backs, and two tiny fins just behind their gills (think ears). They use these to squirm and gallop through the water. Mostly though they just launch themselves into a current and float along until their agile curly tails grab hold of something.

I shall probably be here part of next week too, so you might get some more from me then.

Zoos are great.
