Thunderclouds and simmering heat waves. A roilling ball of tension, whirlwind changes and a flurry of slammed doors. Secrets. Estate agents. Clouds of dust and bags of recycled clothes and garden waste.
The aftermath of my mother's visit has left the house reeling. Although I was pleased to avoid any arguments on a personal level- and actually enjoyed her visit mostly- the times, the times they are a-changing. The house is for sale. We are all going to be homeless soon. At some point, I'll have to think about finding somewhere else to live, and all the discomforts of moving things.
