Travel Report
Nov. 5th, 2004 10:47 amYippee! Sproing sproing sproing!! I'm excited by the prospect of going to Brighton this weekend to see the wondiferous Kat! It'll be my first visit back since I moved away. Practically the only good thing about leaving Brighton is the fact I can now go down for a dirty weekend like all the other weekend warriors. I'll be back on Sunday.
My school reunion's next week... On Monday, Paul Malcolm is coming to stay with me for a few days. He was my best friend while I was at Sevenoaks boarding school, and I haven't seen him for three years. Hoping to rekindle that closeness. He's coming to stay because on Thursday 11th we're going to the school reunion! Gahk! Should be interesting... I have nightmares that he and I will be the only ones there and we'll have to endure much pomp and ceremony... it's taking place at a gentleman's club on the Strand. But it should be an interesting night if nothing else. I think 'high school' reunions is another of those things that Americans do much better than the UK. How tempted am I to pull a Grosse Point Blank? ;)
And just to let y'all know, so you can't say I didn't warn ya, I'm going to Bahrain for a week later this month. I'm planning on Mon 22nd to Mon 29th November. My cousin Myrna is getting married in Dubai, and I wouldn't miss it. She's one of my better cousins... she went to university here, and first introduced me to Winona Ryder. She's marrying a Swiss guy she met while working in Dubai. Her Mom, my Aunt Naima, is not thrilled. But hey, the wedding party takes place "on the lawns of the Ritz Carlton Hotel and Spa" at Jumeira beach. With cocktails. I'm so there! It'll be nice going to a wedding rather than a funeral for a change.
And of course I'm taking a full week to do it because if I didn't, my friends in Bahrain would throttle me. Lots.
