Reasons to be cheerful

This weekend involved the following

an old friend

a decent girlfriend

news of impending nuptials

various fruit trees

a herb garden

7 chickens

2 cats

one small dead mouse, one very dead bird (in parts)

one teeny tiny grass snake

several brooks, a weir, a Byron’s Pool

2 country pubs, one with a 400-year old tree outside

7 (or possibly 9) meadows

some horses and private planes (background)

2 games of Shithead

One deadly and mercenary game of Scrabble

several nice meals

my truly astounding omelettes ;)

some bottles of wine, a beer, and genuine plum brandy

a book or two

one thorough drenching downpour

2 long relaxing train journeys with superfluous sunsets and one (double) rainbow

some sun, some rain, lots of lying around, and good company

I heart all these things

and I had a truly beautiful and peaceful time. Thanks and love to lizkit and buddleia and (the presumably LJ-less) Robin.
