There is no silly here. Move along.

Saw Avenue Q last week and it was staggeringly brilliant - irreverant, vulgar and full of joy. And good songs too. Like Sesame Street if all the kids had grown up and gone to college and then come back home to have sex with each other and moan about the lack of job security. Go and see it now and laugh like we did... you really haven't lived until you've seen muppets having sex on stage. And the Bad Idea Bears live in my head. I was on good form that night too... might have something to do with the liberal application of caffeine. So now my friends know a) that people don't sit next to me on the Tube because they fear my singing puppet penis, and b) they mustn't gang up on me because I have a penis.
In other news: my head hurts. I have some kind of ill that won't go away. Bah! to the ill, bah! at it I say.
Hey, did you just hear the loud squee of fandom rejoicing? As
buddleia told me this morning (scoop!) Naomi Novik's novel better make that series of Temeraire books has been optioned by none other than Peter Jackson. He's talking maybe one film, maybe three, possible a computer game... in other words he has no idea yet. But Naomi Novik started as a fanfic writer... so those naysayers who spend their time mocking "fanwank" can take it back now. When people say there's nothing wrong with fanfic, and that it might well lead to being published? Yeah, you can believe it now.
Also I thought this was interesting... Doctors discovering by accident that certain forms of persistent vegetative states like comas can be repaired or reversed simply by taking a common sleeping pill. Which means that the ethics of coma patients needs to be re-examined again - and also that as brilliant as we are (humans, scientists, the medical profession) we still don't know everything.
Sorry if I'm sounding a little garbled. My head, like I said.
