Buffy Season 8

The first issue of the new Buffy comic is out now...

...and it's great! Written by Joss Whedon, picking up some months after the end of the TV series, but progressing naturally from the events of the last ep. It has Buffy being a kick-ass commando leader of a Slayer network, Xander running ops (and making Nick Fury jokes re: his eyepatch), Dawn has, ahem, a very large part... no Willow, Giles or Andrew yet, but they're all mentioned. And the Big Bad, introduced at the end of the first issue? Perfect! And hilarious. No, I'm not telling you. Go and buy it, it's really good. Just like old times... :)

Rating? Five by five...

Yeah, I liked it too which really surprised me. I was expecting to not like it but you're right, it was just right. It just really felt like the characters and I've missed them.

I am so buying it. But eerrrr I haven't bought comics for at least 15 years. So I'm assuming you go to forbidden planet/all good newsagents? ;)

EEEeee, it's great! I don't think newsagents carry them anymore, actually. It's Forbidden Planet or one of your other ge3k shops...

Hehe well on the offchance I looked in WHSmith in Liverpool St station on the way home, and lo and behold NO BUFFY but they do carry a shiny-looking Kiss-Men comic, also written by Joss Whedon. F0rb1dd3n Pl4n3t it is then ;) (unless anyone can recommend me a comicbook sellin' emporium near Spitalfields that is!)

Thanks for the info! I shall make a special trip to the comic store this coming weekend, methinks. I am in need of some Joss fixes... actually, now that I think about it, all the comics I want right now are Joss books. Still need Serenity too.
