I had strange "needing-to-pee" dreams last night. Does anyone else get that? Normally I get up and go to the bathroom, but I was warm and comfortable so forced myself to go back to sleep. Thus weird dreams.

Also, yesterday I saw DISTRESSING SIGNS that the end of summer is nigh. Leaves falling on me, and a small flock of geese passing directly overhead. I swear I heard the first one call out "See ya sucker!" I feel like we haven't really had a summer at all here. But that may be because I don't have a job, so can't appreciate the time off work over the summer. If you see what I mean. Anyway, I might feel differently after I come back from my thrilling holiday.

Four days ago there was a frost here, early in the morning. And the air had suddenly changed to first hint of winter air. Which, was pretty amazing really for early august. But now it's changed back to mid-summer again. So, maybe a little bit of summer left to us yet.

I hope so. We've had *some* hot weather, on and off, but it's been a strangely unsettled summer with odd weeks of gloomy rain, and occasional storms and tornados. Some nice quiet steady sunshine wouldn't go amiss. You listening, capricious British weather gods?
