How to check if there are any Australians on your friendslist:

Evil lesbian vampire killer couple laugh as they are sent away - and they're Australian! See, that should've been enough of a clue as to their EVIL NATURE!!!

Although actually weird crimes happen everywhere. Even in safe placid laidback Vancouver: Three severed right feet wash up on Canadian shores.

Never seen it. Maybe I'll catch an ep, as a thank you for my breakfast. They had blueberry pom juice!

I'm not sure the show was... oh, never mind. I'm sure it was great juice.

No, different one.

Hmm, no, when did you send it?

I was just going to say I wasn't sure the show were responsible for the juice. Unless it's a really relaly clever show, with godlike powers.

And we all know Tim isn't working at the moment.

Well. Since it was from their craft services table ... :looks away:

It's not theft, since it was necessary to wash down the bagel and cheese I had... just also stolen.

You stole food?

Well done. I hope you got several meals worth.

'Stole' is such a touchy word.

I just got a couple things but it was a nice breakfast and lunch. Least they could do for making me cross the street to avoid the blocked off sidewalk.

Perhaps, but 'borrowed' indicates some manner of unwholesome return of property once you'd extracted your useage from it.

'Dear Fox, please find enclosed this flaming bag of poo, your food, which I return to you.'

From: [identity profile] cabarethaze.livejournal.com
Well it could be 'borrowing, eating, then realizing it can't be returned'...

Oh, fuckit. I'm a thief!

Hell, if you didn't take it the birds would just have stolen it.

And you wouldn't want those bastards getting any stronger on stolen actor food, would you?

From: [identity profile] cabarethaze.livejournal.com
We don't really have any birds that swoop onto large groups of people to steal a bagel. But I'll take that excuse. Merci bien.

Do they not have pidgeons in LA? Pidgeons would be all over any food left out in the open.

Or seagulls, do you have seagulls?

Date: 2008-03-11 10:16 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] cabarethaze.livejournal.com
Pigeons, yes. Seagulls not so much in Gdale, but nearer to the sea.

They usually go for abandoned food, not right into a bustling group of people, trucks and lighting.

These birds of yours are cowards!

Sometimes see seagulls around here. But they're rare. Usually if there's a big storm, some will head inland to the lochs for a while.

At the beach it's a different story. But in a crowded city...I think they're bright enough to go for the deserted sandwich on the trash can than the table surrounded by people.

There's a group of people over here who are making a lifestyle choice, taking all of their food out of supermarket dumpsters. Trying to illustrate how much perfectly good food gets thrown out.

... it's never going to catch on though.

From: [identity profile] cabarethaze.livejournal.com
Ah yeah, my mom was all FREEGAN YAY! And I'm like. Right, I'll take a night off to drive in my invisible car, to forage a dumpster.

Date: 2008-03-11 10:56 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] gonzo21.livejournal.com
It doesn't endear me to the concept that all of the people I've seen doing it as a lifestyle choice have been... not to put too fine a word on it, absolute fucking loonies.

From: [identity profile] cabarethaze.livejournal.com
HOH YES. There is that.

Now, if I'm walking past a store that's closed and there's a case of dented juice boxes. I'll take a look. I'm not proud. I dragged a garbage bag of clothes home once.

But to dedicate that much time to foraging in dumpsters?

My favourite shelf in the supermarket is the bargain clearance shelf. Few things taste better than the uber expensive food you got for very much cheapness. It tastes of... victory.

But food out an actual dumpster that rats have been pissing on? I think I pass.

Yes! I just got a HUGE roast for $5 on sale, then some organic salad mix that was $1.29 instead of $5.29. Clearance frozen ravioli for 99 c/pound. Plus the stuff like some pretentious French marinade that was $12.99. I think i paid $1.50.

Yeahhhh, that's the thing. Or what if something in there WAS unfit to be eaten - a recall, it'd been left out for ages, etc?
